Plant Lovers’ Fair, Kariong, 2017

The AusCPS stall on Saturday morning

The AusCPS stall on Saturday morning

The Society had a successful weekend at the Plant Lovers’ Fair, Kariong, despite the hot, dry and extremely windy conditions. There was some cloud cover on Saturday morning and Sunday afternoon to provide relief. Some plants were damaged when they were blown off the bench but are expected to recover.

Many thanks to the members who supplied plants and helped out at the stall.

Many thanks also to Costa Georgiadis, who did a live Facebook broadcast featuring carnivorous plants on Sunday afternoon.

“We have two genera of carnivorous plants here, Drosera and Utricularia, otherwise known as sundews and bladderworts.

“You grow bladderworts for their amazing flowers as the traps are underground.”
